Aber Home Inspections are performed in accordance with the Standards and Practices of the North Carolina Home Inspection Licensure Board. We are also a member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), the most respected professional society of home inspectors in North America.

The inspection and report provide an assessment of readily visible and accessible systems and their components including:

Structural Components Heating and Cooling
Exterior Interior
Roofing Insulation and Ventilation
Plumbing Built-in Kitchen Appliances
Electrical Attics, Crawlspaces and Basements

Your participation is strongly encouraged! We find that we can achieve the best results when you can take part in the inspection. There is no substitute for firsthand observation and immediate conversation about the many topics which will surely be of interest. The inspection and computer-generated report are as complete as is reasonably possible within the visual (non-intrusive) constraints of the inspection process.

For those clients who are unable to attend, the finished report is a close second to being there. The report has an easy to follow format of the major systems of the house in a well-executed combination of checklist and descriptive narrative and includes digital photographs where they will do the most good in helping to identify items of concern.

We are flexible and can usually accommodate our client’s schedule

  • Inspections are typically scheduled to begin between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm – Monday through Friday.
  • Special circumstances may allow for Weekend and Holiday scheduling

Our inspections usually take 2 to 4 hours depending on the size and age of the home. (1 to 1-1/2 hours per 1000 square feet is a reasonable rule of thumb for newer construction.)
